About Us

It all began in Noveber 2004 when I started giving out my sweet potato pie samples at work and the response was overwhelming!

Soon after, I came up with the name "Bonita's Southern Style Sweet Potato Pies" and the tagline "Oh Taste and See it's Good"!

A great opportunity arose when I was requested to have my pies sampled at Forest Park Kroger's in Cincinnati in 2004, 2005, and 2006 in honor of Black History Month.  I also had the opportunity to record a commercial jingle about "Bonita's Southern Style Sweet Potato Pies" through the African-American Chamber of Commerce that was broadcasted on Radio One.  In addition, I was the Guest Speaker on entrepreneurship for Issue's Cincinnati with Curtis Fuller, an anchor for Channel 9 News WCPO, in August 2008.  The programed focused on 'Ordinary Women with Extraordinary Gifts and Talents'.

Bonita's Southern Style Sweet Potato Pies have a unique and distinct taste, as acknowledged by those who are truly experienced when it comes to "down home cooking".  There is a lost art for traditional baking, and it is really rewarding to know that there is an audience of customers that sincerely crave it through my sweet potato pies.  As a result of customer feedback, it is proven that I bake a product that appeals to a wide consumer demographic.

My goal is to break the tradition of sweet potato pies being available seasonally (Thanksgiving, Christmas, & other holidays), to being a menu item of choice everday.
